David Neuwirth
David Neuwirth, 84, died Jan. 26, 2011. Born in Brooklyn, he lived in Baldwin, NY, and Bloomfield before moving to River Vale three years ago.
Mr. Neuwirth, an independent insurance broker, was the proprietor of David Neuwirth Insurance of Baldwin and an agent for J. Zamzok Inc. in New York City for approximately 50 years before retiring three years ago.
He graduated from City College of New York with a BA.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving his country during World War II from 1942 to 1946.
He was a member of the Jewish War Veterans, a life member of Hadassah men’s auxiliary, a member of the South Baldwin Jewish Center, Congregation Shomrei Emunah of Montclair, and The Israel Congregation of Manchester, Vt.
Predeceased by his wife, Minnie (Ptaszek), five days earlier, he is survived by two daughters, Sherri Neuwirth of Montclair and Jackie Borella of Londonderry, Vt.; a sister, Lorraine Charthower; and four grandchildren.
