David Schneider
David Schneider, 89, of West Orange died Nov. 7, 2017. Born in Englewood, he lived in West Orange for 57 years.
Dr. Schneider was a physician, maintaining a private practice in West Orange for 48 years before retiring in 2005. He also served as an evaluator of medical disabilities for the State of New Jersey and the federal
government.
A Fellow of the American College of Physicians, he earned his undergraduate degree from St. Peter’s College and his M.D. from SUNY-Downstate Medical Center.
He served as a captain in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 to 1957.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn (Ungerleider); two daughters, Rhonda (Mark Popkin) of Randolph and Alison (Richard Avidon) of Washington, D.C.; his son, Andrew (Julie) of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; a brother, Herman of West Orange; and seven grandchildren.
Services were held Nov. 9 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to lymphoma research at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, c/o Dr. Sarah Rutherford, M.D.
