Day school holds hair drive

FORTY-TWO Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy and Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School (JKHA/RKYHS) students, parents, teachers, and alumni donated their hair on April 1. The drive was organized by two RKYHS students from Livingston, Hannah Ginsberg and Jessica Serviss.
“We were overwhelmed by the amount of people who made the decision to donate a minimum of 8 inches of their hair to help others,” said junior Jessica Serviss. “It was truly a JKHA/RKYHS community-wide event.”
Donations were made to The Hair We Share, an organization that makes custom wigs and donates them free-of-charge to clients with medical hair loss. The school community donated more than 400 inches of hair.
Betsy Yarkony and Merav Stern, JKHA/RKYHS parents, donated their hair-cutting skills along with several stylists from Midtown Salon in Livingston.
