Diversity day in Morristown
The Morris County community will celebrate the diverse cultural, religious, and ethnic gifts of its neighbors at the sixth annual diversity celebration on Sunday, July 9, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Morristown Green. This year’s theme is “Stronger Together, Now More Than Ever.”
The free party, for people of all ages, will feature a sampling of local and international food, live jazz and dance performances, prizes, and more. From 1 to 2 p.m., there will be an interfaith worship service.
The diversity celebration is sponsored by the Diversity Coalition of Morris County. More than 30 local organizations have collaborated on the program to help everyone learn more about each other and the diverse cultures in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
The DCMC partners include Morristown Jewish Center–Beit Yisrael; Mount Freedom Jewish Center; National Council of Jewish Women-West Morris Section; Temple B’nai Or; Congregation B’nai Israel; Atlantic Health; CASA of Morris and Sussex Counties; Congregation Adath Shalom; the Morris County Human Relations Commission; the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office; the Morris School District; Autism NJ, and the Morris County Sheriff’s Office.
