Doris Greenman

Doris Greenman (Kaminsky), 84, of West Orange died Feb. 12, 2011. She was born and raised in Newark’s Weequahic section, where she lived until 1946, and then lived in Maplewood and South Orange before moving to West Orange 33 years ago.

Mrs. Greenman met her future husband, Marvin (Buddy), at age 13 when they were campers at Camp Rosemont and Roselake. They married shortly after World War II ended.

She was an active member of Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel in South Orange for many years, was a life member of Hadassah, and was a founding member of the Israel Tennis Center, her favorite charity.

Predeceased by her husband of 42 years, she is survived by two sons, Roy of West Orange and Jeffrey of Mendham; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held Feb. 13 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to Israel Tennis Center, 3275 W. Hillsboro Boulevard, Suite 102, Deerfield Beach, FL 33442 (attn: Kathy Mueller).
