Edward Cohen
Edward Cohen, 99, of Highland Park died July 24, 2017. Born in Jersey City, he was a resident of Highland Park since 1946.
Mr. Cohen founded Associated Enterprises in 1955 and in 1985 sold the company to Philips Electronics.
He was a graduate of Dickinson High School and attended Rutgers University in Newark for two years.
He enlisted in the Army in 1941 and served in the Philippines and Japan. He was honorably discharged in 1945 with the rank of sergeant.
He was a member of Highland Park Conservative Temple-Congregation Anshe Emeth for over 40 years, where he served as vice president for 14 years and was an honorary board member. He was also a member of Knights of Pythias.
Predeceased by a daughter, Elyse, he is survived by his wife of 71 years, Freda (Rosenfeld); a daughter, Judith of Ann Arbor, Mich.; and a sister, Frances Bergman of Tinton Falls.
Services were held July 25 with arrangements by Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, New Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the HPCT-CAE Memorial Fund, 201 South Third Ave., Highland Park, N.J. 08904.
