Edwin Roth

Edwin Roth, 79, of Pine Brook died Sept. 24, 2013.

Mr. Roth, who owned an auto body shop in East Orange, was featured in a Jan. 2, 1983, Star-Ledger article when he and a student pilot flew to New Bern, NC, from Essex County Airport to transport a sick patient on a “mercy flight” to a hospital in Atlantic City. The owner of a twin-engine Cessna 310, he had learned to fly 10 years earlier after becoming tired of commuting to his weekend home in Stowe, Vt.

Predeceased by his daughter, Jenni Lynn Roth, and his son Greg Roth, he is survived by his son Jeff.

Services were held Sept. 27 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston.
