Elisa Udaskin takes new role as director of employer engagement at JVS MetroWest
EAST ORANGE — Elisa Udaskin, a career specialist at JVS of MetroWest, has been promoted to director of employer engagement. In this new role, she will focus on building and strengthening strategic partnerships with employers to expand JVS’s workforce training programs and work with employers, community organizations, and stakeholders to improve employment possibilities and expand opportunities for JVS clients.
“I am looking forward to creating and building strong, mutually beneficial partnerships between JVS and employers,” Ms. Udaskin said. “These partnerships will meet employers’ needs while opening up job opportunities for people experiencing barriers related to age, ability, education, immigrant status, job skills training, language, or the effects of generational poverty.”
Ms. Udaskin has an extensive background in strategy and business management and is the author of a book, “Be a Mensch: Unleash Your Power to be Kind and Help Others.” She joined JVS in 2023, motivated by the agency’s mission. “I am truly grateful to be working for an organization with whom I share the values of tzedakah (helping people help themselves as the highest form of social justice) and tikkun olam (taking action to repair and improve the world),” she said. “I look forward to making a significant impact.”
Since 1939, JVS’s mission has been to help people identify and overcome barriers standing in the way of meaningful employment. Over the last few years, JVS has identified expanding employer partnerships as a key objective and vital to help clients.
“Creating the role of director of employer engagement is a concrete step toward achieving that objective,” the group’s CEO, Michael Andreas, said. “By developing purposeful partnerships, our clients will have ready access to a fuller range of career opportunities and support services. We’re delighted Elisa will be leading this initiative.”
