Elsie Lederman
Elsie Lederman (Radeen), 94, of West Orange died Feb. 11, 2018. Born and raised in Newark, she also resided in Maplewood and South Orange before moving to West Orange about 25 years ago.
Mrs. Lederman began her career as a buyer for Bamberger’s in Newark and Morristown. She became a homemaker and later worked with her late husband, George, at Radeen’s Home Decorators in Millburn, the business begun by her father. She also held a real estate license for several years with ERA R.G. Schaffer Realty, also in Millburn.
She graduated from West Side High School, Newark, and attended Newark University (now Rutgers University).
She was a lifelong member of Oheb Shalom Congregation in South Orange and a member and former president of its Miriam Sisterhood. She was an active member of Women’s League for Conservative Judaism and other organizations.
Predeceased by her husband, George, she is survived by two sons, Mark (Ronni) of Bridgewater and Hal (Harriet) of Highland Park; and five grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 12 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to Oheb Shalom or Newark Museum.
