Emergency aid for Israel – How to give
The Jewish Federation of Greater Middlesex County has opened an emergency fund, which has collected more than $10,000 as of Dec. 16 to assist in efforts to help victims of the fires.
We are “happy to partner with the Jewish Agency for Israel, the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, the Jewish National Fund, and Israel Trauma Coalition in responding to the tragedy in northern Israel,” said federation president Arlene Frumkin. “We have been receiving daily updates from our partners that immediate needs are being taken care of and plans are in place for rebuilding and restoring the area.”
Federation executive director Gerrie Bamira said the Israeli government requested that Jewish federations mobilize to provide funding for humanitarian needs such as assisting vulnerable populations and for counseling services.
Those wishing to contribute should make checks payable to the Jewish Federation of Greater Middlesex County (with “Israel fires” in subject line) and mail them to the federation at 230 Old Bridge Turnpike, South River, NJ 08882 or call 732-588-1800 with a credit card number.
Those wishing to contribute to the Jewish National Fund’s campaigns to rebuild the forests and/or provide firefighting equipment can contact the New Jersey office at 215 Ridgedale Ave., Florham Park (973-593-0095) or visit www.JNF.org/fifdonate.
