Estelle Rozenberg
Estelle Rozenberg (Yurkowitz), 91, of Cedar Grove died Nov. 2, 2019. She was born in Brooklyn and lived in Cedar Grove since 1996.
Married to Rabbi Martin S. Rozenberg, she served with him as rebbetzin in congregations Rodeph Shalom of Philadelphia, Temple Beth Israel of Hazleton, Pa., and The Community Synagogue in Port Washington, N.Y.
She attended City College of New York.
Actively involved in the communities she lived in, she assumed leadership roles in the synagogue sisterhoods and the local Hadassah chapters. Together with her husband, she played an integral part in the founding of the Joseph and Betty Harlam Camp. During the 1960s and 1970s she was a co-leader of National Federation of Temple Youth and Community Synagogue educational tours to Israel, Europe, and the Soviet Union.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years; her son, Rabbi Robert (Cynthia); two daughters, Karen Rozenberg (Douglas) Berman and Sandra Sadove; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held at The Community Synagogue on Nov. 4. Memorial contributions may be made to The Community Synagogue or URJ Camp Harlam.
