Eugenie K. Eichler
Eugenie K. Eichler of West Orange died June 11, 2017. She was born and raised in South Orange.
Ms. Eichler graduated from Kent Place School in Summit and earned a B.A. from Smith College in Northampton, Mass.
A community leader with United Jewish Federation of MetroWest (now Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ), among her numerous roles were those of vice president of both the Jewish Community Federation of Metropolitan New Jersey and its Women’s Division, serving as 1985 general campaign chairwoman, and heading various Women’s Division campaign sectors. She was also a member of the federation’s board of trustees, was named chairwoman of the federation’s task force on national cultural and educational agencies in 1986, and was elected president of the Women’s Division in 1987.
She is survived by her daughter, Betsy (Michael Marconi) Eichler Feinstein of Chappaqua, N.Y.; two sons, Peter (Mildred) Eichler of Lawrence, Kansas, and Thomas Eichler (Stephanie Sersich) of Topsham, Maine; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Services were held June 15 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston.
