Feeding the hungry

For last month’s Mitzvah of the Month at Temple B’nai Abraham in Livingston, members donated 280 decorated lunch bags, each holding a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, cookies (many home baked), fruit, and a drink. The sandwiches went to Livingston Neighbors Helping Neighbors, who broght them to churches in Newark; from there, they were distributed to local families with food insecurity. Tara Ehrenkranz chairs the shul’s Social Action Committee; her son, Cameron, pictured right, helps make sandwiches.
