Florence Lerit
Florence Lerit (Horowitz), 83, of Delray Beach, Fla., died Feb. 13, 2018. She was born and raised in Brooklyn and later lived in Morrisville, Pa., before moving to Whiting. She spent six months of the year in Delray Beach.
Mrs. Lerit and her husband owned and operated Ray’s Deli on Perry Street in Trenton. Later they ran Ray and Flo’s Deli in Villa Park, Hamilton. She had also worked at Capital Linen Service, Beneficial, The Butterfly Shop, and eventually the State of New Jersey, retiring from its Division of Motor Vehicles.
While in Florida living in “Seville M,” she was the director of her walk for the Association Board. She was a social director, planning activities for both Kings Point and at Crestwood in New Jersey.
Predeceased by her husband, Ramon, and a son-in-law, Allen Leichter, she is survived by three daughters, Mindy (Robert) Ringkamp, Robin (Michael) Nagy, and Shari Leichter; a sister, Elayne Solomon; three grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and her longtime companion, Bruno Maccario, and his family.
Services were held Feb. 21 with arrangements by Riverside Memorial Chapels, Ewing. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
