Frank Morris Welton, 85, of Oceanport died Oct. 19, 2014. Born in Worms, Germany, he was raised in New York City. He retired to Oceanport after living in the Bronx and Englewood Cliffs.
Mr. Welton worked his way up from an errand boy with Skorus Theaters to a career in the motion picture industry. He was the recipient of many awards, including induction into the ShowEast Hall of Fame in 2004. He retired as senior vice president of Loews Theaters, now Sony Theaters.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was a philanthropist who gave to many charities.
He is survived by his wife, Maureen; three daughters, Stephanie (Lloyd) Fitzsimmons, Neva, and Jill; his son, Jeffrey (Jane); seven grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Memorial services were held Oct. 22 at Monmouth Reform Temple with arrangements by Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean.
