Gallery director and docent meet to discuss new art exhibit
Lisa Suss, the director of the Gaelen Gallery at the JCC MetroWest in West Orange, recently met with Linda Forgosh, the former executive director and curator of the Jewish Historical Society of Greater MetroWest. They spoke about the Tree of Life exhibit at the JCC MetroWest, “From Darkness to Light: Mosaics Inspired by Tragedy,” which Ms. Suss curated.
Here, Ms. Forgosh, a docent for the JCC exhibit, holds her “Stay Strong” shirt, a gift from a friend who is a Tree of Life shul congregant and was there on the day of the shooting. Proceeds from the sale of the shirts have raised funds for the Pittsburgh synagogue. Ms. Forgosh donated her shirt to the upcoming Tree of Life exhibit.
The exhibit, which commemorates the 11 victims of the 2018 Tree of Life Synagogue shooting, runs through April 30.
