George Weiss of Cedar Grove died Feb. 11, 2016. Born in Newark, he lived in Clifton for many years before moving to Cedar Grove 10 years ago.
Mr. Weiss’s professional career included service in the state penal system and as a school psychologist in Mountain Lakes. He also had maintained a private practice.
He graduated from Weequahic High School in Newark and continued his studies at Indiana University, Kent State, and the University of Texas, earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees. He later received his PhD in clinical psychology from Yeshiva University.
Predeceased by his wife of nearly 65 years, Muriel, last June, he is survived by his son, Eric (Beth); his daughter, Karen (Geoff Burnham); and two grandsons.
Services were held Feb. 16 with arrangements by Jewish Memorial Chapel, Clifton.
