Gertrude Goldfinger
Gertrude B. Goldfinger (Nestler), 78, of Maplewood died March 25, 2016. Born in Jersey City, she lived in Orange, Fanwood, and Scotch Plains from 1974 until 2014, when she moved to Maplewood.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in history with a minor in English from New York University and later obtained a teaching certificate.
Mrs. Goldfinger had worked for the Suburban Eye Group in Berkeley Heights for 15 years as a receptionist, retiring 10 years ago. She previously was an elementary education teacher at the Montessori School in Scotch Plains for over 10 years.
She is survived by her husband, Alexander; her daughter, Gail of Somerset; and her son, Scott of Scotch Plains.
Services were held March 28 with arrangements by Ross’ Shalom Chapels, Springfield.
