Gizella Zaifman
Gizella Zaifman, 90, of Pennington died May 16, 2015. Born in Szegi, Hungary, she survived the Holocaust and the Dachau concentration camp. After liberation, she was assigned to the Feldafing Displaced Persons camp in Germany, where she met her husband, Jack. She immigrated to the United States in 1949, settling in Trenton.
Mrs. Zaifman and her husband opened Jack’s Tailor Shop in Trenton in 1954.
She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Pamela and Sally Zaifman-Kagan (Elliott Kagan); two sons, Mark (Pat Chiappa) and Arthur (Lory); and four grandchildren.
Services were held May 19 with arrangements by Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, Ewing. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jack Zaifman Humanitarian Award, given annually to a New Jersey public school teacher who has demonstrated a dedication to remembering the Holocaust and teaching lessons of tolerance in conjunction with the NJ Commission on Holocaust Education.
