Gladys Brieff

Gladys (Cissy) B. Brieff (Hirsch), 92, of Englishtown died June 27, 2020. Born in Brooklyn, she resided there for many years before moving to Howell and then Jackson. She was residing at the Jewish Home of Freehold.

Mrs. Brieff was a bank teller at Kings Highway Savings Bank, which later became Citibank on Kings Highway. She helped many small business owners with business loans for over a 30-year period.

She graduated from James Madison High School in Brooklyn.

She was co-president of Hadassah and president of the Women’s Auxiliary of Centrastate Hospital in Freehold. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. In addition, she played mahjong and enjoyed the Jersey shore and its boardwalk and travelling.

Predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Max, she is survived by her daughter, Andrea (Joel) Brandt; her son, David (Donna); two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Private graveside services were held June 30 with arrangements by Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Manalapan.
