Greater MetroWest kudos

Gary Rosenblatt’s column describing the tribute to Elie Wiesel at the UJA-Federation of New York perfectly captured the feeling and the message of the panel and the exhibit of 18 portraits of Wiesel by Meyer Uranovsky (“On Yom HaShoah eve, missing our ‘reluctant prophet,’” April 25). One thing was missing: the back story of how Barbara Wind and the Holocaust Council/Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ first pioneered this project and established the vision in naming, creating, and curating the traveling exhibition of the portraits, while Gal Wertman’s work on the catalogue provided the text for New York.

What needs recognition is that it was Greater MetroWest’s success that energized me to bring this project to the welcoming attention of UJA- Federation.
