Harold Littman
Harold Littman, 95, of West Orange died Nov. 21, 2017. He was born in Newark.
Mr. Littman began his career in the printing business, later founded and was president of Seward Edison Corp., and became an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association of America before later becoming an educator.
He spent nearly two decades of his adult life to secure his high school diploma and then a bachelor’s and master’s degree as well as his Ph.D. from New York University. After receiving his doctorate, in a discipline he designed,
he became an adjunct professor
at NYU.
He served as a lieutenant in the United States Air Force as a bomber navigator during World War II.
He created the Joshua Littman Video Fund at Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel, South Orange, in order to record and stream services to the community. He served as a vice president and member of the temple’s board of directors as well as an honorary trustee.
Predeceased by a son, Joshua, in 1987, he is survived by his wife of 71 years, Annette (Stein); his daughter, Abigail (Alan) Spierer; three sons, Jonas, Jeremy (Shari), and Jonathan (Nancy); 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services were held Nov. 24 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston.
