Harold Suffel
Harold Suffel, 97, of West Orange died June 11, 2016. Born in Newark, he had lived in West Orange since 1953.
Mr. Suffel was a sales representative, selling lawn and garden equipment for many years, retiring in 1999.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons Azure Lodge #22 of Cranford. He helped in building B’nai Shalom, the first permanent synagogue in West Orange.
Predeceased by his wife, Annette (Orange), he is survived by four daughters, Irene Kesler of Israel, Bernice Seigel of Hamden, Conn., Judith Freeman of West Orange, and Lorraine Gordon of Morris Plains; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Services were held June 14 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
