Harriet Beneroff
Harriet Beneroff of West Orange died Sept. 30, 2015, her 85th birthday. Born in Brooklyn and raised in Queens, she raised her family in Brooklyn before later moving to Short Hills and to West Orange in 2011.
Mrs. Beneroff and her husband Seymour founded Squire Corrugated Container Corporation, where she was secretary-treasurer, retiring in 2005.
She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Hunter College.
She was active in Congregation B’nai Israel of Millburn.
An avid golfer, she played during winters in Boca Raton, Fla., and at Maplewood Country Club.
She is survived by her husband; three sons, James, Elliot, and Richard; her daughter, Aileen; and 12 grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 2 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest, Whippany.
