Harvey Morginstin, 82, of Bloomfield died March 2, 2020. Son of the late Cantor Samuel J. and Lillian Morginstin, he was born in Newark.
Mr. Morginstin worked for the General Electric Company in New York City for 40 years.
He graduated from Weequahic High School in Newark, and earned bachelor’s degrees in electrical and mechanical engineering from Newark College of Engineering (now NJIT).
He volunteered with the Montclair High School Robotics Team, Montclair Society of Engineers, The Unity Club, the NY/NJ Harbor Estuary Committee, and Temple Ner Tamid in Bloomfield.
His hobbies included taking his boat (1955 Trojan Sea Queen) on the Passaic, Hackensack, and Hudson rivers and Lake Hopatcong. He was a member of the Passaic River Boat Club.
Predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Debby, he is survived by his daughter, Karen (Blair) Hogg; two sons, David and Mark (Nancy); a sister, Rochelle Karni; a brother, Sidney Morginstin; and five grandchildren.
Services were held March 4 at Temple Ner Tamid, to which memorial contributions may be made.
