Helen Gerson
Helen Gerson, 88, of South Orange died April 19, 2014. She resided for many years in Fort Lee.
Ms. Gerson owned and operated Gerson Jewelers in multiple New Jersey locations, including Ft. Lee.
In her mid-50s, she returned to college and completed a BA degree at William Paterson College. She then earned a master’s degree in psychiatric social work from Iona College and began a private practice as a psychotherapist specializing in short-term hypnotherapy.
She is survived by three children from her marriage to Adrian Salzberg, her daughter, Patrice Lee of South Orange, and two sons, Stephen Salzberg of Woodcliff Lake and David Salzberg of Kinderhook, NY; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held April 22 with arrangements by Menorah Chapel at Millburn, Union.
