Helene Susswein

Helene C. Susswein (Dunner), 83, of Eatontown died Oct. 27, 2013. Born and raised in New York City, she lived in Highland Park for many years before moving to West End and then Eatontown 10 years ago.

Mrs. Susswein worked for Revlon Corp. in New York City prior to her marriage. She later helped out in the family business, Capitol Decorators, first in Highland Park and later in East Brunswick.

She attended New York University.

She spent many years volunteering weekly at Middlesex General Hospital in New Brunswick, now Robert Wood Johnson Hospital. She was an active member of the sisterhood of Highland Park Conservative Temple-Congregation Anshe Emeth and a life member of Hadassah.

Predeceased by her husband, Marvin A., she is survived by two daughters, Lynn Susswein (partner Kimberly Raub) and Barbara (Elliot) Kaplan; a sister, Honey Kraemer of Philadelphia; and a grandson.

Services were held Oct. 28 with arrangements by Bloomfield Cooper Jewish Chapels, Manalapan. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
