Henry Frankel
Henry Frankel, 90, of Livingston, died Oct. 2, 2018. He was born in Gombin, Poland.
Mr. Frankel is a Holocaust survivor who spent four years in nine concentration camps, including 18 months in Auschwitz. When Auschwitz was evacuated in 1945, he was a part of the death march. He was liberated by the U.S. Army in Dachau.
He came to the United States in 1949; he was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1950 and deployed to Germany. After his service, Mr. Frankel started an outerwear manufacturing company in New York City with his brother that lasted more than 30 years.
He is survived by his son, Steven of Green Brook, his daughter, Michelle of Livingston, and five grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 3 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
