Herbert Baron
Herbert “Herb” J. Baron, of Boca Raton, Fla., formerly of Parsippany and Maplewood, died Jan. 24, 2016.
After an early career as a real estate agent and broker, Mr. Baron embarked on a 30-year career with the State of New Jersey’s Division of Taxation, retiring as the supervising investigator of its Newark office.
He was an Army veteran of World War II who served on the front lines in North Africa and Italy.
He enjoyed family vacations at Cape Cod and the Jersey shore, and spent several summers in Maine with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lillian; two daughters, Caroline Baron of Springfield and Irene Baron (Richard) Sevrin of Ocean; his son, Jack (Shari) of Randolph; and three grandchildren.
Services were held Jan. 28 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to Adath Shalom, Morris Plains; Rabbinical College of America, Morristown; or Hospice by the Sea Foundation, 5300 East Ave., West Palm Beach, FL 33407.
