Herman Pollack
Herman Pollack, 89, of Union died April 28, 2014. Born in Newark, he resided in Newark before moving to Union in 1953.
Mr. Pollack was employed as a disability claims rating specialist by the Veterans Administration, Newark, for 40 years before retiring in 1985.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army who served during World War II.
He served as the gabbai of Congregation B’nai Ahavath Shalom, Union, for many years.
Predeceased by his sister, Rosalind Straus, and his nephew, Gary Straus, he is survived by his niece, Sally M. Straus of Union.
Services were held May 1 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
