Herman Schlesinger
Herman Schlesinger, 87, of Maplewood died May 23, 2015. Born in Newark, he was raised in Irvington and resided in Maplewood for most of his adult life.
Mr. Schlesinger had a career as an electrical engineer at Codura Corp in Pine Brook.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy who served his country in World War II.
His hobbies included ham radio communication, small electronics repair, and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Elodie; his daughter, Sonna Ringler of Maplewood; two sons, Frank (Elizabeth) of South Brunswick and Brian (Kathleen) of Livingston; a sister, Zara Parmet of Springfield; and nine grandchildren.
Services were held May 25 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
