Linda Forgosh, the former executive director and curator of the Jewish Historical Society of Greater MetroWest, talked about the history of the White Meadow Temple in Rockaway at the shul.

As has happened other times, a congregant told Ms. Forgosh that he had historic documents to donate. This time the donor was Tom Fast, an attorney for a local Holocaust survivor who died in 2002. Mr. Fast had the survivor’s photographs and postcards from her family in Germany. He even had a photograph of her name on the wall of Yad Vashem. Ms. Forgosh picked the box of records up at Mr. Fast’s law office in Parsippany and brought them to the Jewish Historical Society of Greater MetroWest.

For 23 years, Ms. Forgosh researched and curated a series of exhibits and wrote many books on the history of Jews in the synagogue’s area. She was instrumental in digitizing hardcopy issues of the New Jersey Jewish News from 1947 to 2016.
