Howard Isaacs

Howard Stuart Isaacs, 70, of Redmond, Wash., died May 18, 2016. Born in Newark, he resided in Ocean Township for over 45 years before moving two years ago to Washington. 

Mr. Isaacs owned Wanamassa Pharmacy for 30 years until it was sold in 2005. Afterward, he worked for several years as a pharmacist at Wegmans in Ocean Township. 

He graduated from Union High School in 1962 at age 16, having skipped a grade. He graduated from Temple University in 1967 with a bachelor of science in pharmacy. 

He was past president of Monmouth County of Pharmacists, founder and board member of the former Ocean Independent Bank, past president of the former Temple Beth Torah in Wanamassa (now Congregation Torat El), and sponsor for many years of the Ocean Township Little League. He belonged to Breakwater Beach Club for over 35 years.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Nancy Ziment Isaacs; his daughter, Randi Isaacs of Atlanta; his son, Scott Isaacs (Jocelyn Cohen Isaacs) of Bellevue, Wash.; and two grandchildren. 

Services were held May 22 with arrangements by Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association or Chicago Diabetes Project.
