Ileane Balakirsky
Ileane Ann Balakirsky, 50, of Piscataway died Aug. 21, 2013. She was born in Brooklyn with a rare Jewish genetic disorder, Familial Dysautonomia, and moved to Piscataway in 1977.
Ms. Balakirsky was an award-winning Avon representative.
She graduated from Piscataway High School in 1981 and worked as a volunteer in the school’s attendance office for 25 years. In 1998 she was honored as the Piscataway Volunteer of the Year.
She is survived by her parents, Debra and Nathan, and her brother, Eric (Jasmen).
Services were held Aug. 25 with arrangements by Goldstein Funeral Chapel, Edison. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dysautonomia Foundation, Inc., 315 West 39th St., Suite 70, New York, NY 10018.
