Impact of war

THREE SPEAKERS will talk about the enormous impact Nazi Germany’s annexation of western Czechoslovakia had on their lives 80 years ago. Peter Fleischmann, Susan Lederman, and Eva Vogel — who were born in Czechoslovakia — will share their stories on Tuesday, Oct. 2, at 4 p.m. at the Dorothy Young Center for the Arts (Room 106) on the Drew University campus in Madison.

The event is presented by Drew’s Center for Holocaust/Genocide Study with support from the Jackie Berke Fund, Sylvia Holder Fund, and Hedy and Jay Brasch.

Germany’s annexation stemmed from the 1938 Munich Pact, an agreement with Britain, France, and Italy that was designed to avert war but ultimately only delayed it after enabling Hitler’s aggressive
expansionism. Call 973-408-3600.
