Ira Deutsch
Ira L. Deutsch, 92, of Cranford died Aug. 13, 2019. Born in the Bronx, he had lived in Cranford since 1955.
Mr. Deutsch was a mechanical engineer for Rutgers University, New Brunswick, for 26 years, retiring in 1986.
He earned a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from New York University.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces during World War II.
He was a member of the North Jersey Electric Railway Historical Society of Rahway, Jersey Central Railway Historical Society, Model Railroad Club, Inc. of Union, and National Railroad Historical Society of Moorestown.
Predeceased by his wife, Joan (Will), he is survived by his daughter, Barbara Kruger of Rochester, N.Y.; his son, Alan of Manasquan; a sister, Amelia Pobiner of North Carolina; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
