Irene A. Kramer
Irene A. Kramer, 88, of Cranford died Feb. 14, 2011. Born and raised in Roselle, she lived in Cranford most of her life.
Mrs. Kramer worked at Solomon Sports Shop in Elizabeth. She was supportive of her husband as he started and built his business, Brounell & Kramer Realtors, in the 1950s. As a teenager she worked for the family-owned business, M.A. Poultry Market of Roselle.
She was a 1940 graduate of Roselle High School.
During World War II, she was an air raid warden and was also active in the USO.
She was an active, longtime member of Temple Beth El-Mekor Chayim of Cranford and its sisterhood as well as Hadassah.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Charles; her son, Mitchell; two daughters, Sybil Kramer and Laura Kramer; a sister, Pearl Becker; and four grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 16 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to Hadassah or the New Jersey Audubon Society.
