Israel Bonds honors community members

More than 60 community members and supporters of Israel attended an Israel Bonds Metro NJ program on September 24 featuring Dr. Jonathan Schanzer, an author, and senior vice president of research at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies. Rabbi Paul Kerbel and Temple Beth-El Mekor Chayim in Cranford, where the program was held, co-sponsored the program.

Dr. Schanzer spoke about the threats Israel faces, including from Iran, in cyberspace, in the legal arena, on campus, and in the media. “Israel is currently defending itself on seven fronts against Iran and a wide array of terrorist proxies,” he said. “Other battles are being fought against the axis in cyberspace, in the legal arena, on campus, in the media, and beyond.”

Addressing how Americans can help, particularly through Israel Bonds, Dr. Schanzer said, “Israel is fending off a coordinated economic warfare campaign designed to drain its resources over a longer period of time. We can help in very tangible ways. Israel Bonds stands at the vanguard of this battle.”
