Israel Pass
Israel Pass of Highland Park died March 16, 2013. He was born in 1917 and lived in St. Louis before moving to Highland Park in 1966.
Orphaned at the age of seven, he was on the streets of St. Louis hawking the Post Dispatch in 1925 at age eight years.
Mr. Pass was an electrical engineer.
He attended Washington University in St. Louis.
He was a member of Highland Park Conservative Temple-Congregation Anshe Emeth since 1966.
He was involved in such organizations as B’nai B’rith, the men’s club of his synagogue, and Jewish War Veterans.
Predeceased by his son Lenny in 1989, he is survived by his wife of almost 72 years, Tillie; two sons, Scott and Sanford; his daughter, Ruby; a sister, Shirley; and six grandchildren.
Services were held March 18 with arrangements by Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, New Brunswick.
