Jack Komisar

Jack Komisar, 95, of Monroe Township died June 13, 2012. Born in Brooklyn, he resided in Shendrock, NY, before moving to Monroe in 1980.

Prior to retiring in 1980, Mr. Komisar was a senior vice president of Rodway Sales in Bloomfield, where he worked for 19 years.

He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II.

He was a member of the Jewish Congregation of Clearbrook and served on its board of directors.

He was a life member of the Knickerbocker Lodge Knights of Pythias and a past president of the Hebrew Congregation of Somers, NY, where he instituted a year-round religious school program.

Predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Schneider Komisar, in 2003, he is survived by two daughters, Madeline Penner of San Diego and Shelley Jacobson of Hartsdale, NY; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services were held June 15 with arrangements by Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick.
