Jack Nathanson
Jack Saul Nathanson, 95, of White Plains, NY, died Oct. 24, 2015. Born in Montreal, he raised his family in Millburn and later lived in West Orange.
Mr. Nathanson had a lengthy career in the wine and spirits industry, including as national sales manager of Renfield Importers and as the founder and president of Wine and Spirit Vaults, Inc.
He graduated from New York University’s School of Commerce.
He served from 1942 to 1945 as a U.S. Army Air Corps navigator, flying B-24 missions over southern Europe and earning the rank of lieutenant.
He was a member of Congregation B’nai Israel of Millburn, where he served for many years on the board of trustees. He was also an active member of B’nai Shalom of West Orange.
He served as a board member of Ruth Gottscho Kidney Foundation in Teaneck.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Florence; two sons, Charles (Rochelle) and Bruce (Audrey); his daughter, Margery (Paul) Weinstein; a brother, Arthur; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 26 with arrangements by Riverside Memorial Chapel, Mt. Vernon, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to Ruth Gottscho Kidney Foundation or any synagogue/charity.
