Jack Rosenthal

Jack Rosenthal, 88, of West Orange and Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., died Dec. 5, 2012. Born in Newark, he was raised in West Orange and also lived in Miami.

Mr. Rosenthal was the vice chairman of Ryan, Beck & Co., Inc. (now Stifel Nicolaus) until his retirement in 2005.

He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was captain of the football team.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served during World War II.

He was a longtime member of Green Brook Country Club in North Caldwell.

Predeceased by his first wife, Judith (Fox), he is survived by his wife of 20 years, Donna (Relles); his son, James (Vicki) of Montville; his daughter, Jill of West Orange; three stepchildren, Lori Milowitz, Jeffrey Kaltman, and Kristin Gross; two brothers, Robert of Tamarac, Fla., and Howard of West Orange; a sister, Nan Wood of Maplewood; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held Dec. 7 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association’s Greater NJ Chapter, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07083.
