Jackson S. Freundlich
Jackson S. Freundlich, 87, of South Orange died April 18, 2011. Raised in Williamsport, Pa., he lived in South Orange for most of his life.
Mr. Freundlich began his career in his family’s business, Emeloid Corp., in Hillside, and was president of the Hillside Industrial Association. Later, for many years, he was a stockbroker in New York City.
He graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a degree in chemical engineering.
He served as a B-17 pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, flying 31 missions over Northern Europe and receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal with oak leaf clusters.
He was a member of Mountain Ridge Country Club, West Caldwell.
Predeceased by his wife, Barbara, in 2000, he is survived by three sons, Lawrence, Donald, and Andrew, and six grandchildren.
Services were held April 21 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Jewish Committee, Millburn.
