Jane Rosenblum

Jane Belle McCarthy (“Bubby Jane”) Rosenblum, 76, of Hillside died Nov. 21, 2017. She spent her later years residing in her childhood home in

Hillside.

After working for the Chemical Abstracts Service of the American Council of Chemicals in Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Rosenblum eventually retired as a chemist. 

She attended the Vail-Deane Girls School and received her B.A. from Smith College in 1963, prior to earning her M.S. from Smith in 1966. 

She participated in activities at the Elizabeth Garden Club and the Jewish Community Center. She had a passion for trivia game shows, at one time qualifying for Jeopardy. 

She was a longtime member of Bris Avrohom, Hillside.

Predeceased by her husband, Arthur, she is survived by a sister, Anne Forbes of Acton, Minn.; her stepchildren, Cheryl of Atlanta, Janice Condara of Sugar Land, Texas, Kenneth Rosenblum of Denver, Elizabeth Rosenblum of Denver, and Jacqueline Rosenblum (Richard) Mohr of Evergreen, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Nov. 24 with arrangements by J.L. Apter Memorial Chapels of Cedar Grove. Memorial contributions may be made to the RWJ University Hospice Center of Somerville.
