Janice Schofel
Janice B. Schofel (Bruck), 81, of Livingston died Oct. 6, 2012. She was born and raised in Newark and moved to Livingston in 1957.
For many years, Mrs. Schofel was active in the family business, Eastman Companies.
She attended Weequahic High School in Newark, Syracuse University, and the Tobe Coburn School.
She was a past president of the Jewish Community Housing Corporation, serving as a board member there and at Daughters of Israel, and was a past board member of the Livingston Symphony. She was active in Israel Bonds and in many Livingston organizations.
Predeceased by her husband, Marvin, she is survived by three sons, Stephen, Pete, and Michael; her daughter, Nancy Cohen; and six grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 10 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to the Schofel Family Endowment Fund at Jewish Community Housing Corporation or Daughters of Israel.
