The JCC MetroWest announced the winners of its 21st annual Gaelen juried art show and sale. Awards were presented for best in drawing/pastels, mixed media, painting, photography, and sculpture, and for best in show.

Best in Show was awarded to Kevin Goldman’s painting, “Scott Avett and Tania.” The distinguished juror was Virginia Schaffer Block, artist and founder of Studio Montclair.

Best drawing/pastels went to Denise Bobinski for “Hot Summer Day.” Linda Schulman and her ‘Potted Plants” won best mixed media. Mike Fenton’s “Symmetry” was the best painting;  Randy Samuels won best photograph for “Manhattan Bridge View,” and best sculpture went to Ry An for “Yellow Belly.”

The show is free and open to the public; it runs through July 27 at the Gaelen Gallery East at the Leon & Toby Cooperman Campus of JCC MetroWest, 760 Northfield Ave. in West Orange. Winning work will be exhibited at JCC MetroWest throughout the 2022-2023 Gaelen Arts season.

The annual Gaelen juried art show and sale is the continued realization of Audrey and the late Norbert Gaelen’s dream to offer talented, creative artists a unique, prestigious venue for their art. The show is highly selective; 43 artists from the greater MetroWest area are represented by more than 66 works of art. Most of the show’s art is for sale.
