JCC MetroWest launches ‘Fitter on the Roof’ outdoor classes

JCC METROWEST announces the return of in-person group exercise classes with the launch on June 29 of the “Fitter on the Roof” outdoor fitness program. Held underneath a covered portion of JCC MetroWest’s parking structure’s roof, advance registration is required and social distancing is observed.

“We’re so thrilled to welcome our members back to the J to safely continue on their health and wellness journeys and to realize their fitness goals,” said Sharon Tobey, director of group exercise. “We thank our dedicated fitness instructors for leading the way.”

Open to active members only, fitness classes are held Monday through Friday and are led by the J’s fitness instructors. Spin, cardio, boxing, and more are offered; members sign up via JCC MetroWest’s website or app. For those who are not able to attend in-person, “Fitter on the Roof” classes will also be posted on the J’s Facebook and YouTube pages.

JCC MetroWest prioritizes the community’s health and safety. All participants must complete a health screening prior to arrival, wear a mask before and after class, bring their own equipment and towel, and remain at least six feet from other individuals at all times, following government guidelines.

“We hope we can welcome the entire community back to JCC MetroWest as soon as we are able,” said Tobey. “We are grateful for everyone’s support.”
