Jean Steinberg, 92, of Maplewood died Dec. 14. Born in Tarnogrod, Poland, she escaped to Siberia after the Holocaust before moving to Israel and then the United States, where she settled in Queens.
Mrs. Steinberg was a religious school teacher.
Predeceased by her husband of 22 years, Manny, she is survived by two sons, Jonathan and Howard, and five grandchildren.
Services were held Dec. 16 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions can be made to the Foundation for Fighting Blindness.
