Jewish Family Service of MetroWest NJ and the Rachel Coalition, JFS’ domestic violence division, will begin a new book club series on September 20, at 6:30 p.m. Now’s it’s planned to be exclusively on Zoom, but it may become hybrid as the date draws nearer.
Many popular books raise issues connected to domestic violence, sexual assault, dating abuse, and stalking. The goal is to engage community members to the work done at JFS and the Rachel Coalition while providing education on domestic violence and other related topics.
The first book featured is the New York Times bestseller “Where the Crawdads Sing” by Delia Owens. “Crawdads” is a heartbreaking coming-of-age story combined with a surprising tale of possible murder. Ms. Owens reminds us that we are forever shaped by the children we once were and that we are all subject to the beautiful and violent secrets that nature keeps.
