Jewish Family Service of Central NJ joins Alzheimer’s New Jersey for a free monthly virtual Alzheimer’s/dementia caregiver support group. The group, led by Bonnie Freirich, LCSW, the JFSCNJ director of dementia programs, will meet on five Wednesdays — February 14, March 13, April 10, May 8, and June 5, at 1 p.m. It’s free, open to community Alzheimer’s/dementia caregivers, and run in accordance with the Alzheimer’s NJ guidelines. Participants can join by Zoom or telephone. The support group is for caregivers; is not appropriate for people who have been diagnosed with dementia.

Ms. Freirich oversees the Coffee House/Day Program for people who have memory loss. It meets on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Temple Sholom in Scotch Plains.

Participants are welcome to join the group at any time but must contact Ms. Freirich in advance to receive the Zoom link. Registration is recommended. If you would like more information about the services and programs offered through JFSCNJ for people with Alzheimer’s and dementia disorders, email Bonnie at bfreirich@jfscentralnj.org or call (908) 352-8375.
